Hi.
Decided to start separate topic for Russian localization.

First, issue:
email notification system uses charset=us-ascii by default. It replaces all cyrillic characters in emails with ???? . Where can I change this to utf-8 ?

Second, question : our community going to translate some of "Using Project.net" documents, to create localized set of manuals. Those pdf`s are made in 2007 and outdated a bit... Do you have newer version of such documents? Even draft documents will be useful.

Set environment variable
JAVA_OPTS
with value -Dfile.encoding=UTF-8
and export.

Start tomcat and check new emails.
Do you also have issue with displaying Russian language on pages?

Why use draft documents, when the most current documents are on-line? :-) Go to doc.project.net and you will find all of the on-line help, the User Guide and the Administrators Manual there in wiki format.

If you translate the help pages, Project.net can open the Russian pages when someone logs into Project.net using Russian and the English pages when someone logs in using English.

Maybe there is a way that your translation can be an alternate language choice for doc.project.net.

Hi Harshal.
Tried to start tomcat with this parameter - did not work. Today I`ll try to add this parameter to global JAVA_OPTS, but i`m not sure it will help. Looks like text of email passed conversion that was not aware of cyrillic symbols...
Anyway, there are no troubles with displaying Russian on pages, only with emails...

Our translators told me that they need training document with typical actions illustrated. You had this for PNET 8 version, but in 9 you moved to the Wiki structure. Why do we need such kind of document? You can read it from my letter with russian translation file.

AlexM,

Can you sent your Russian translation to pnetsupport@project.net and we will install it on the localization server (localization.project.net)?
